Kupu-kupu batik or striped albatross (Appias libythea) is a butterfly species in Pieridae, a wingspan of about 6 cm, predominantly white with black and yellow or orange stripes on the wings and flocking in large numbers.
Males are white in color with black veins protruding at the bottom, the front end is oval and the upper part is white, has a black border with several white lines. The rear wing is white.
Females are darker in color with the base color of the wings are yellowish, the front end is rounded, while the upper front and back have a series of white stripes. This butterfly is very fond of perch on kenikir (Cosmos caudatus).
A. libythea lives in open forests and around rice fields that are rich in flower plants. At least A. libythea has four subspecies: A. libythea celima, A. libythea olferna, A. libythea peducaea and A. libythea yayeyamana.
