Baya ginger (Globba candida) is a species of plant in Zingiberaceae, a low shrub that grows upright or sideways on the ground, leaves are elongated, flowers in panicles with white and yellowish red color, grows wild in the shade or damp in forests and plantations.
G. candida has stems growing upright or sideways, green with leaf midrib layers on the outside and arranged alternately, has linear lines and short white hair.
The leaves are elongated, pointed tips, smooth margins, green, a large bone in the middle forms a trench with several veins sideways to form a cone, the upper surface is green and shiny, the lower surface is pale green.
The inflorescences grow in panicles on a large stalk and are green or white and bow down. Petals are shaped like funnels, pure white and bowed down. Pistils are light brown or yellowish red with a curved tip.
Baya ginger grows wild in shady or humid places, elevations of 700 meters, red or brown soil or karst. It dries in the dry season for six months and grows to form large colonies to produce flowers in the rainy season for six months.
