Night bells (Brugmansia suaveolens) is a species of plant in the Solanaceae, a shrub or small tree with a semi-woody trunk and many branches, large leaves with a dense canopy, trumpet-shaped flowers and fragrant yellow or white color.
B. suaveolens grows to a height of 3-5 m, the trunk has many branches and forms a dense canopy. Leaves oblong or elongated, 25 cm long, 15 cm wide, blunt base, pointed tip, margin flat or slightly toothed, a large vein in the center with several small veins and green.
The flowers are trumpet-shaped, 24-32 cm long and yellow or white or red and hang downward. Crown slightly curved to 5 points, but apex often curved outward and rarely curled back, short apex 1–2.5 cm long.
Night bells grow along riverbanks and forest edges, high humidity and high rainfall. Fragrant at night to attract pollinating moths, the flowers hang half closed during the day, but open again at night.
