Gigil hydrangea or Chinese quinine or anti-febrile dichroa (Hydrangea febrifuga) is a species of plant in the Hydrangeaceae, a shrub with erect stems, oblong leaves, indigo or blue or white flowers and widely cultivated as an ornamental plant.
H. febrifuga grows to 2 m, 2.5 m wide, stems erect and branched. Leaves have long stalks, sitting opposite, oval or elongated, thick, pointed tip, blunt base and serrated margins.
The leaves have a large vein in the middle with many pinnate veins, the upper side is dark green and glossy, the underside is pale green. Flowers are corymbs, growing at the apex in a panicle with branching stalks, Blooms are indigo or blue or white.
