Bondol haji or emprit kaji or white-headed munia (Lonchura maja) is a species of animal in the Estrildidae, a small bird, with white head and throat, brown iris, bluish-gray beak and pale blue legs.
L. maja has a white head and throat, while the other parts are plain brown. Young birds have a brown color. The voice has a high pitch: "puip" when clumped.
This species lives widely to an elevation of 1500 meters, often visiting swamps, rice fields, open plains with grass and gardens. They form large groups during the rice harvest season, but disperse in pairs during the breeding season.
The female lays 4-6 white eggs in a ball-shaped nest of grass.
