Pulutan or caesar weed (Urena lobata) is a species of plant in the Malvaceae, perennial shrub or subshrub, erect, rising, 2.5 meters high, stems cylindrical, strong and woody, branched, covered with small, star-like hairs and white in color.
U. lobata grows as a single stalk producing dense branches. Young stems are green and old stems are dark red or brown.
The leaves are oval with palmate lobes and each lobe has a linear main vein and many pinnate veins. The surface is dark green and rough with white fine hairs.
The flowers are bell-shaped, purplish pink, about 1 cm wide and have a short stalk. The fruit is hairy and can stick to clothing or feathers.
