Wild jujube or jhahrberi or ber (Ziziphus nummularia) is a species of plant in the Rhamnaceae, shrub up to 8 meters high, branching, bark whitish brown, old stems cracked, grows in arid areas, hills, plains and agricultural land.
Z. nummularia has branches and twigs with a velvety texture and pale color. Surface has spines, up to 1 cm long, firm, curved and brown. The lateral roots are long and spread deep into the substrate.
The leaves are arranged in simple criss-cross and have a short stalk. The strands are globose, 2.5 cm long, serrated edges, upper surface dark green and glossy, under surface white and downy.
The flowers are pale yellow. The fruit is round or slightly oval in shape and does not exceed 1 cm in diameter.
