Bayam merah or chicken gizzard plant or Herbst's bloodleaf (Iresine diffusa form herbstii) is a form in Amaranthaceae, a shrub with upright stems or vines and branches, red in color, flowers in panicles at the ends of the stems, grows in damp or slightly wet places.
I. diffuse f. hersbstii grows upright, the stem has grooves, is not woody, red in color and the segments are continuous. Leaves come in a variety of shapes and colors. Oval to elongated, base rounded to sharp, tip rounded to sharp. Petiole short to long.
A central vein, several pinnate veins, flat margins, upper surface red and black or green and yellow. Small flowers.
