Magic orchid (Calanthe speciosa) is a species of plant in the Orchidaceae, epiphytic and terrestrial orchid, up to 125 cm long, fibrous roots, oval leaves, up to 75 cm long, up to 15 cm wide, folded surface, sharp tip and asymmetrical base.
C. speciosa has flowers at the end of the stalk, the overall length of the stalk is up to 60 cm, cylindrical in shape, the flowers are in a radial row 19 cm long. Flowers are up to 3 cm long and bright yellow.
This species grows on forest floors, roadsides and abandoned lands, often in damp places but tolerates long dry seasons.
