Aluminum plant (Pilea cadierei) is a species of plant in the Urticaceae, an evergreen annual herb, up to 60 cm high, underground rhizome to colonize an area, independent and upright stem, over time it can grow woody at the base and has a smooth layer in the form of a cystolith spindle shaped.
P. cadierei has an opposite leaf arrangement. Petiole glabrous and up to 2 cm long. The leaf blade is simple, ovate, up to 8 cm long, up to 4 cm wide and 3 veins. The leaves are dark green with silvery patches and slightly textured edges.
The inflorescence grows at the end of the stalk and is up to 7 cm long. The bracts are broadly ovoid and about 3 mm long. Flowers are white-pink. The fruit is egg-shaped and flat, about 1.5 mm long. Seeds contain endosperm and embryo with two oval-elliptical or circular cotyledons.
